Silver Leaf Montessori Playgroup respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what information we may process, why we use it and the choices available to you.
Who is responsible for your information
Silver Leaf Montessori Playgroup is the responsible party for personal information processed for its own purposes. Privacy questions and requests may be sent to admin@silverleafmontessori.co.za.
Information you choose to provide
If you use the enquiry form, we collect the parent or caregiver’s name and surname, email address and contact number, the child’s name and date of birth, the mornings of interest, whether you would like to arrange a visit, and the information entered in the enquiry field. We may also receive information you choose to send by email or another contact channel.
We ask for the child’s name and date of birth so that we can understand their age and respond appropriately about programme suitability. The person submitting the form must be authorised to provide the child’s details.
Please do not send identity documents, medical records or other sensitive information unless we have specifically asked for it and explained why it is needed.
The current website does not contain an application form, parent account or document-upload facility. An enquiry does not amount to an application or enrolment.
Technical information
Our hosting and security providers may process limited technical information needed to load, protect and troubleshoot the website. This can include an IP address, browser or device type, requested page, request time and security information. The website does not currently use an analytics service, advertising tracker or marketing cookie.
The enquiry form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to distinguish legitimate submissions from automated abuse. Turnstile may process technical and security information necessary to perform that check under Cloudflare’s own privacy terms.
How we use personal information
We may use personal information to:
- respond to questions about the programme, attendance options, fees or visits;
- communicate with you about an enquiry you have made;
- operate, secure and troubleshoot the website and communication channels;
- keep reasonable records of enquiries and correspondence; and
- comply with legal duties or protect legitimate rights and interests.
When information may be shared
We do not sell personal information. Information may be processed by service providers that help us host the website, provide email or enable communication services. We may also disclose information where the law requires it or where this is reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend a legal right.
Email delivery, external communication and hosting services may process information outside South Africa under their own terms and privacy practices. Use these channels only if you are comfortable with the relevant provider handling the information you send.
Retention and security
We aim to keep enquiry information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, for legitimate record-keeping, or as required by law. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, but no website or communication service can guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Subject to the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 and other applicable law, you may ask whether we hold personal information about you and request access to, correction of or deletion of that information. You may also object to certain processing or ask us to restrict its use where the law allows.
To make a request, email admin@silverleafmontessori.co.za. We may need enough information to verify your identity before acting on a request. If you believe your personal information has been handled unlawfully, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
